Whats good world,
It's Jasmine here! the brain child behind Revolution Girl.
OK, So, I know we just met, but I have a question... Have you ever felt like there has got to be more to life then this?
UH, ME TOO
Our Current Reality: 20 plus years of school (+) 40 plus years of working (+) a few years of retirement (=) Surviving
Its easy to fall into this trap because its the norm, no one questions it and in fact we eloquently justify it
BUT
Our Current Possibility: Discovering our interest (+) nurturing our passion (+) fulfilling our purpose (=) LIVING
Its easy to understand the secrets to achieving this life, but difficult to actually apply them to our life
Guiding youth to transform their lives from Point A- (where they are) to Point B- (where they want to be), by providing life tools to change their paradigm about the possibility for their life, is what I live for!
To be honest I'm no stranger to being paralyzed by fear, guilt, hurt and shame. I just happened to be afforded some of life's basic elements that are crucial to developing wholeness. Unfortunately many black girls lack these elements in today's society and the result, we have cycles of survivors instead of thriver's. RG was inspired by the black girl who accepts the life society has handed her because she is lacking on the inside, disabling her to be an agent of change on the outside. Revolution Girl is not a program, it's a movement with self love at the core of everything it teaches.
As an educator, mother, dreamer and a believer that we are the masters of our destiny, I know that if I’m going to tell brown beauties to go after their dreams, I better fully go after mine. You are experiencing the manifestation of me fulfilling my purpose, as I am in the beginning stages of making my dreams reality.
Love,
PhenoMeJMarie
